Why The Name - Deco City Beer?

Hawkes Bay experienced a terrible earthquake which occurred in 1931, with 256 people killed and many thousands injured. It devastated the Hawke's Bay region and remains New Zealand's deadliest natural disaster. However, the rebuild was rapid, and much of it in the Art Deco style, which was very popular at the time.

Of particular note, the amazing National Tobacco building was built in 1933, and traded until closing in 2005. This is widely regarded as one of the finest examples of Art Deco architecture in the world, and is surely one of the most photographed!

In 2017 this building was re-released.

bStudio was born.

It is the most modern craft brewery in the world.

This continues Hawkes Bays great heritage of beer brewing.
